If computer HP recognizes Printer but not scanner , because the scan to PC setting is either disabled. The other reason behind scan function not working can be that the complete drivers are not installed on the system or PC.Then, restart both the PC & printer or peripherals and try to scan again using HP printer scan.
1.Save multiple pages in a single scan file: Tap the plus sign.
2.Create a PDF or select an image file type: Tap Share/Save, and then tap Format to select a file type.
3.Send the scan to email: Tap Share/Save, change any file settings, and then tap Share/Save to display the Mail option.
Method 1- Check the connection

Type “cmd” in the search bar of your Windows
Then, click on “Run as Administrator”
In the command prompt type “msdt.exe -id DeviceDiagnostic”
And, press the “Enter” key
On the next pop-up, choose “Next”
